How to clean your oven – Self-Cleaning

Nov 4

So your lasagna bubbled over and your soufflé exploded?

Not to worry – cleaning your oven is not the all-day chore it used to be. So the things you’ll need are: oven cleaner, soft rags and sponges.

To self clean ovens remove the racks and soak them in soapy water then turn on your automatic oven cleaner. This usually entails locking the door and turning the function switch to “clean.” Let the oven cleaner then do its work; it will heat for several hours, breaking off baked-on foods.

To manually clean your oven, remove the racks and place them in soapy water to soak. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Turn the oven off and spray the inside with oven cleaner allowing it to sit for 10 minutes then wipe away the oven cleaner and dirt with a damp sponge, rinsing frequently. Dry with a soft cloth.

So you need not worry anymore about cleaning your oven.
